Location of Tianjin in China
Im Zeichen des Tigers
The starting shot was fired in 2004: Blumenbecker founded a company in Asia. It has been 20 years since Blumenbecker (Shanghai) Automation System Co., Ltd. gained a foothold in China's financial metropolis. Specialising in consulting, project planning, design and software development and with its own switchgear production facilities, the company quickly began supplying customers, most of whom were based in Germany. It didn't take long for the company to expand: In 2010 - the year of the tiger - a switch cabinet production facility was established in Tianjin.
Expansion of production
The impetus for this came from GEA - a long-standing customer of Blumenbecker Automatisierungstechnik GmbH. The suggestion was made to start series production of separator skids (compact, pre-assembled units) together in Tianjin. No sooner said than done. Blumenbecker opened a branch in Tianjin in 2010, just five kilometers from the customer's site. With 25 employees, they manufactured switchgear, mostly for GEA. In total, they have now produced more than 7,500 switch cabinets for this customer alone.
An important milestone was the inauguration of a new production hall with 2,250 square meters of modern production space plus a 440 square meter office building on 22 October 2014. The celebration was a traditional inauguration ceremony with drummers and a lion dance as a ritual to bring good luck. And it has brought Blumenbecker luck in Tianjin ever since. The company has developed steadily. 15 of today's 38 employees have been with the company for over ten years.
Key partner for customers
Since then, the company has successfully completed many projects for well-known customers, including names such as Sidel Machinery (Beijing) Co., Ltd., TTS-SCM Marine and Offshore Machinery, Ltd. and HAVER TECHNOLOGIES (Tianjin) Ltd. ‘Thanks to our many years of experience with technologies and an excellent corporate culture, we are a professional partner in the development of automation systems. This includes production optimisation, electrical installation, commissioning and training. Our customers come from various industries, such as automotive, packaging, logistics conveyors, food and mechanical engineering,’ says Managing Director Xinmin Zhao.
Blumenbecker Tianjin focusses on efficiency when it comes to control cabinet production. The cables are pre-assembled to the required lengths, configurations and requirements - there is no need for cutting and stripping on site. Blumenbecker works closely with the customer to determine the exact design details. This helps to minimise downtime - much to the satisfaction of the customer.
