Weimar-Werk GmbH is a steel and mechanical engineering company based in Thuringia. Its business fields include mechanical engineering and steel construction, conveyor technology and screening and crushing technology. The company is also active as a supplier for the beverage industry. It also manufactures stainless steel assemblies for the food industry. In 2018, the company employed 90 employees at two locations in Germany.
The commission
Weimar Werk GmbH was looking for an electronic solution for C-parts procurement in mid-2018. The aim was to streamline commercial processes, shorten ordering times and minimize errors in the ordering process.
Project scope
Together with the customer, the purchasing processes were analyzed, the requirements classified and in this way the appropriate e-procurement solution was found for Weimar- Werk GmbH: Eproc.III offers the possibility of structuring the entire procurement area in a modern way, evaluating it very well and also a good cost analysis in the project business. This is an Internet-based „on-demand solution“ that does not tie up any IT capacities. A connection to the customer‘s existing ERP system is also possible.
Twelve employees at Weimar-Werk are equipped with the eproc.III license. Here, the employee has online access to approx. 40,000 articles - imported especially for the customer - and can order directly. A further performance highlight of eproc.III is the creation of article favorites, which enables an order process to be realized in less than six minutes on average. The complete C-parts supply is handled via this system, including special parts such as chemicals. A contact person in the office ensures support and smooth processing.
