Henrik Spiske is PVH Talent 2018 Industriebedarf receives a distinction as training employer
Henrik Spiske, a young man who has recently qualified as a “specialist in wholesale and export commerce” at Blumenbecker Industriebedarf GmbH, will soon be embarking on a trip to New York. That is his prize for winning the E/D/E Group’s junior personnel competition “PVH Talent 2017 – Show what you can do!”. And Blumenbecker Industriebedarf also received a distinction as “Training Employer of the PVH Talent 2017”.
E/D/E is Europe’s biggest purchasing and marketing association in the field of “PVH” (Produktionsverbindungshandel), i.e. B2B wholesale trading in production-related goods. After 2013 and 2015, E/D/E was once again on the lookout for the PVH Top Talent. The competition is open to all junior staff working in the fields of commerce, logistics and IT who completed their vocational training or university sandwich course in 2016 or 2017 at one of E/D/E’s partner firms.
Henrik Spiske had to undertake a long and arduous journey before being ultimately presented with the coveted award on 17 November in Düsseldorf. The first step took the form of participation in an online assessment centre in spring 2017, which involved dealing with questions in the fields of politics, history, the sciences, mathematics and social affairs. The best 40 participants were then invited to attend the Challenge Days at E/D/E in Wuppertal on 19 and 20. September, where they had to prove themselves in a range of demanding individual and group tasks. Aspects that were rated included how the candidates reached their solutions, how they conducted themselves under time pressure and how they manifested their social skills. The grade they obtained in their final apprenticeship certificate also played a role in the overall assessment. Henrik Spiske was able to convince the jury, made up of representatives of E/D/E and of the chamber of industry and commerce, in all categories. As the PVH Talent 2017, he can now look forward to a trip to New York. Blumenbecker Industriebedarf was also distinguished with recognition as “Training Employer of the PVH Talent 2017” and was awarded two places for the E/D/E Apprenticeship College.
As Barbara Amman, head of HR at E/D/E, pointed out: “Today, it is more important than ever to be open for new perspectives and to engage in constant further development. And that is precisely what the participants in the PVH Talent 2017 event have done. I would also like to thank all our partner enterprises for their strong commitment and support for the important matter of providing training for young people in our sector.
