Rewinding machines Bobcat and Max
Our customer: Trima s.r.o.
Our customer is Trima s.r.o., a mechanical engineering company that manufactures machines for winding, rewinding, slitting and other processing of various materials. The company operates globally and its machines are in successful operation on several continents. Our cooperation has been ongoing since 2010. As a result, we have completed a number of projects, mainly in the USA, but also in Europe and Mexico.
Jumbo winder and manipulation
One of the many completed projects is a non-woven fabric winder installed at the end of the production line.
This is a device which, in addition to the actual winding of the product, ensures the transfer to a new roll while the line is running and, above all, quite extensive handling of the roll, insertion of empty shafts, etc.

Project description:
The two machines are identical, differing only in the details of the electrical equipment, as one is designed for a European operator and the other for a US operator.
Each machine consists of an axial unwinder, a middle section consisting of tension separators and a cutting section and an axial winder. Included are mechanisms for winding and loading the roll on the unwind and similar mechanisms for unloading the wound roll from the winder.
The material to be rewound has a maximum width of 1520 mm, the maximum diameters of the unwound and wound roll are 2100 mm. The production speed of the machine is 400 m/min.
Both machines are designed in accordance with contemporary safety requirements, which means, in addition to emergency stop circuits, mainly fencing with doors equipped with safety locks, zoning, etc.
In the case of these projects, we supplied user software for the control system, regulated drives and visualisation equipment, including commissioning.

Technical means for machine drive and control:
The main element is the control system Siemens SIMATIC S7-1500 with remote peripherals ET200SP. The control system is designed for safety tasks.
The regulated drives are Siemens Sinamics S120. The drive is implemented as a multidrive (group drive consisting of inverters with a common power supply unit). The drive includes a total of 9 servo drives for the roll handling mechanisms and 6 drives for the actual rewinding of the material (unwinding, winding, 2 x tension separator, knife section, unwinding roller). The Simatic-WinCC-unified operator panel is the means of visualisation.
Intercommunication between the individual parts of the machine is ensured by the PROFINET communication bus.
