The Commission
The existing doors were no longer fully functional and did not meet the high safety requirements in place at Freckenhorster Werkstätten. They were therefore to be replaced by a new set of high-speed doors.
Contract scope
The Ahlen branch of Freckenhorster Werkstätten GmbH employs people with different physical and mental impairments. The original inner doors often caused minor accidents and there were frequent complaints of staff catching themselves on the sealing strip.
Blumenbecker recommended the fitting of high-speed doors from the Dynaco company as these were faster to operate than the existing units, provided a superior seal around the full perimeter and did not feature rigid sealing strips.
The new doors have successfully resolved the accident problem and also come with a self-reinserting function. The external door unit is no longer prone to damage caused by forklift operations as the door opens much more quickly and can disengage and then reinsert itself back in its guides to avoid ramming damage of this kind. Blumenbecker further recommended installing radar-type presence detectors that prevent the door being closed when persons are working in the door area.
The external door is additionally provided with a UPS as it also serves as a designated escape route. In the event of a power failure the door now opens automatically.
Our client says:
»We were especially impressed by Blumenbecker's advisory expertise.«
